Objective of Role

This role is responsible for leading complex efforts to develop and deliver data solutions that accomplish cyber security technology and business goals.

Key responsibilities include code design and delivery tasks associated with the integration, cleaning, transformation, and control of data in operational and analytics data systems. The lead guides stakeholders, product owners, and software engineers through design and execution processes, providing technical thought leadership based on significant experience with complex data solutions and cross‑system data flows.

Required Skills and Experience
  • Proven experience with technology leadership guiding junior engineers to project completion and delivery
  • Experience with the cyber security domain, preferably vulnerability data management
  • 8+ years of hands‑on data engineering / software development
  • Ability to switch between technology leadership and hands‑on coding when required
  • Experience with big data processing systems such as Hadoop, Cloudera
  • Experience with cloud services and technologies such as AWS, Azure
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python
  • Strong SQL and Unix expertise
  • Experience with data stores such as Hive, HBase, Elastic
  • Experience with code versioning systems such as Bitbucket
  • Experience with CICD pipelines
  • Good knowledge of data‑engineering principles and SDLC process
  • Ability to detect early and articulate business partner challenges and gaps in requirements
Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the design and engineering approach for complex data solutions is consistent across multiple flows and systems
  • Conduct research, design prototyping, and exploration activities such as evaluating new toolsets
  • Utilize multiple architectural components in the design and development of client requirements
  • Maintain, improve, clean, and manipulate data for operational and/or analytics systems
  • Continuously seek better ways of solving technical problems and designing solutions, challenging the status quo when appropriate
  • Collaborate with development teams to understand data requirements and ensure the data architecture is feasible and accurately implemented
  • Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional and non‑functional requirements
  • Build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, data quality controls, dependency, and workload management
  • Define and build data pipelines that enable faster, better, data‑informed decision‑making within the business
  • Contribute to existing test suites (integration, regression, performance), analyze test reports, identify test issues, and triage underlying causes
  • Document and communicate required information for deployment, maintenance, support, and business functionality
  • Adhere to team delivery/release processes and cadence pertaining to code deployment and release
  • Identify gaps in data‑management standard adherence and work with partners to develop plans to close gaps
  • Lead concept and experimentation testing and synthesize results to validate and improve analytical solutions
  • Define key performance indicators and internal controls
  • Mentor junior data engineers and coach team members in delivery/release CI/CD events (e.g., branching timelines, pull requests, issue triage, merge/conflict resolution, release notes)
