Duration: 12 months with extension possible to 18 months

Other Approved Locations: Chandler, AZ or Chicago, IL

Pay Scale: $65-68/hr(Cannot subcontract or C2C)

Job Description:

Seeking a skilled PostgreSQL DBA, responsible for managing and supporting backend databases for critical applications like Ansible Tower and Artifactory. This role requires a true PostgreSQL DBA, not just an application support resource, with experience in database upgrades, high availability (HA) environments, and Linux administration.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide database administration support for PostgreSQL in a high-availability (HA) clustered environment.
• Perform daily operational tasks, including monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting of PostgreSQL databases.
• Manage PostgreSQL upgrades, patches, and performance tuning.
• Support Ansible Tower, ensuring smooth database operations and resolving issues as they arise.
• Work with Oracle databases as needed, providing backend database support.
• Implement and maintain HA clustering solutions to ensure database reliability and performance.
• Collaborate with Linux administrators to optimize database performance in a Linux environment.

Required Qualifications:

• Strong PostgreSQL DBA experience with hands-on expertise in administration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Experience managing high-availability (HA) clustered environments.
• Proven PostgreSQL upgrade experience in enterprise environments.
• Solid understanding of Linux systems; prior Linux administration experience is a plus.
• Experience supporting applications with PostgreSQL backends, such as Ansible Tower and Artifactory.
• Knowledge of Oracle databases and backend database management.
