Vaco is currently seeking a Data Governance / Metadata / Catalog Consultant for a 16M+ Contract opportunity that is remote. The Data Governance / Metadata / Catalog Consultant will focus on designing, implementing, and maturing enterprise data governance and metadata management capabilities for a large, complex client environment. The Data Governance / Metadata / Catalog Consultant will work as part of the delivery team to establish robust metadata, lineage, classification, glossary, catalog, stewardship, and certification processes across multiple business domains.

The work will center on MS Purview as the core platform, with integration and comparison to other tools in the ecosystem (Alation / Collibra / Informatica EDC). The Data Governance / Metadata / Catalog Consultant must come with a mix of strategic design, hands‑on configuration, process definition, and cross‑functional collaboration with data owners, stewards, architects, and engineering teams.

• MS Purview Expertise (hands‑on) — Implementing / Administering MS Purview as a Primary Enterprise Data Governance / Metadata Management Platform
• Metadata Management Platforms (experience with 2+) — Enterprise Metadata / Data Catalog Solutions | Alation / Collibra / Informatica EDC
• Metadata Harvesting / Data Discovery — Configuring / Managing Metadata Scanning / Harvesting Processes Across Multiple Data Sources / Enterprise Systems
• Data Lineage Design / Implementation — Designing / Implementing Technical/Business Data Lineage Solutions to Improve Data Visibility / Traceability / Governance
• Business Glossary / Data Classification — Building / Maintaining Business Glossaries / Data Dictionaries / Data Classification Frameworks | Supporting Enterprise Governance Initiatives
• Data Stewardship / Workflow Management — Defining / Operationalizing Data Stewardship Processes / Certification Workflows / Data Ownership Models Across Business / Technical Teams
• Data Governance Operating Models — Designing / Implementing Enterprise Data Governance Operating Models | Policies / Standards / Roles / Processes / Governance Supporting Sustainable Data Management Practices

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company's 401(k) retirement plan.
