AI, a subsidiary of Safran Electronics & Defense, designs AI solutions applied to complex data such as high-resolution satellite images, FMV video streams, and acoustic signals. These solutions rely on algorithms capable of automatically detecting and identifying objects of interest in the sectors of intelligence, defense, and aeronautics.

Since its integration into Safran in September 2024, Safran.

AI also contributes to the transformation of the group by applying AI solutions to the fields of industry 4.0. For example, automated AI image analysis can assist controllers responsible for inspecting critical parts by helping them detect possible anomalies from digital images.

The challenges of the position

As a Solution Engineer, you are the preferred technical contact for our prospects. In close collaboration with a commercial manager, a functional expert, and a proposal manager, you lead the technical framing of commercial opportunities to propose high-value solutions tailored to the challenges of our prospects.

In this role, you:

• Transform sometimes complex or ambiguous needs into clear, structured, and exploitable technical requirements, while carrying the technical vision of the solution;
• Design realistic architectures and solutions that are economically viable and aligned with business objectives and technical constraints;
• Work closely with engineering teams to develop, challenge, and validate technical and commercial proposals that often require a specific development component;
• Identify technical risks in advance and, when necessary, implement proof of concepts to secure solution choices;
• Develop a trusting relationship with prospects by leading demonstrations, workshops, and technical exchanges in a solution and client value-oriented approach.

Tech side:

• Our development teams use robust technologies such as Python, FastAPI, Typescript, Docker, PostgreSQL, Nomad, Kubernetes, Ansible, Terraform, Grafana, PyTorch, AWS, Notion, Slack.
• We are primarily a software publisher, but we are fully capable of supporting our clients on integration and infrastructure issues according to their needs. Our scope of intervention thus covers everything from providing ready-to-use Docker images to deploying a sovereign data center, as well as integrating our solutions within third-party systems such as GIS (GIS) platforms, data platforms, or command software.

Attention:
The ability to obtain a Defense clearance is mandatory for this position.

About you

You are passionate about innovative technologies and client relations, enjoy international environments, and wish to evolve in the demanding and stimulating world of defense:

• You have at least 5 years of professional experience, ideally with successful prior experience as a Solution Engineer. Profiles of Tech Lead, Engineering Manager, Architect, or Technical Project Manager with a strong background and affinity for client contact will be considered with interest;
• You are available for regular trips in France and internationally (on average two international trips of three days per month);
• You are proficient in English, both written and spoken;
• You have excellent communication and presentation skills;
• You demonstrate a strong sense of organization and autonomy;
• Ideally, you have experience with on-premise deployments disconnected from the Internet, integrations within enterprise information systems, or the geospatial or defense sector.
