Engineer II, Systems is responsible for managing and optimizing the organization’s IT infrastructure. This role involves configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting servers, networks, and storage systems to ensure high availability and performance. The engineer conducts regular system audits, implements proactive measures, and automates routine tasks through scripting to enhance operational efficiency. Collaboration with cross‑functional teams is essential for successful project deployments, requiring technical support during the implementation of new technologies.
Responsibilities- Performance Monitoring and Optimization – Monitor system performance metrics, analyze data to identify bottlenecks, implement solutions, configure settings, conduct regular assessments, and use diagnostic tools. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure optimal resource allocation and scalability.
- Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution – Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to performance, network connectivity, and application functionality. Analyze logs, perform root‑cause analysis, implement solutions, document troubleshooting steps, and maintain a knowledge base. Collaborate to meet SLAs.
- System Upgrades – Plan and execute upgrade procedures, test new systems, and document changes. Ensure compatibility and performance standards are met and troubleshoot issues that arise.
- Server Maintenance and Upgrades – Perform regular maintenance on servers, apply updates, patches, and upgrades. Monitor server health, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to enhance reliability. Document maintenance activities and coordinate downtime.
- System Configuration Management – Manage and maintain system configurations across platforms: deploy, monitor, and update software and hardware configurations, create documentation, audit configurations, and implement changes to align with standards.
- Network Administration Support – Maintain network infrastructure, troubleshoot connectivity, implement security protocols, and ensure optimal performance of network services. Conduct audits and collaborate on system integration and upgrades.
- Documentation of System Processes – Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of processes, configurations, and procedures. Develop guides for installations, updates, troubleshooting, and best practices; review and update documentation regularly.
- Automation of Routine Tasks – Identify repetitive tasks, develop automation scripts using Power Shell, Python, or other tools, manage system updates, backups, and monitoring alerts. Implement automation in cloud environments and document solutions.
- Collaboration with Cross‑Functional Teams – Participate in meetings with developers, project managers, and IT staff; provide technical insights; ensure architecture aligns with business needs; integrate systems and troubleshoot collaboration issues.
- Security Compliance and Management – Ensure all systems comply with internal and external security standards. Conduct audits, implement policies, manage access controls, and respond to incidents. Maintain compliance documentation and collaborate to enhance security.

QualificationsEducation / Credentials
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science from an accredited college or university.

- Customarily has at least 5 years of experience in systems engineering of Microsoft Windows Server OS.
