Theodo Engineering Manager Position

You will join a thriving tech community of Theodoers: software engineers, tech leads, engineering managers, and architects, with whom you can exchange, learn, and progress on a daily basis.

At Theodo, techs work in project teams, constituted according to the needs of each client, bringing together software engineers, tech leads, and product managers. Together, they collaborate closely with the client, with regular exchanges to share their progress, deepen the understanding of their problem, and evolve the product as closely as possible to the needs of its users.

As an Engineering Manager, your role is to manage up to 4 tech leads, either by heading the success of 4 projects, in a duo with a Group Project Manager.

The current need focuses on "large-account" missions with complex products and architectures developed by several Theodo squads:

• Manage lead profiles on complex projects they are staffed on
• Carry the quality of projects through the weak point management gesture (0 defects strategy)
• Improve the working conditions of teams, which also includes setting up the agentic working conditions.

The problems and technologies are very different from one project to another, here are some examples:

• Health Hero:
  European leader in telemedicine, they wish to modernize their French platform, Qare, in view of a merger with the UK platform. The objective is to move from Loopback2 to Nest to be able to upgrade from Node 10 to Node 20. Thanks to our AI-accelerated modernization method, we go from an estimated 70 weeks without AI to a completed migration in 21 weeks and accelerate the delivery speed by 5.
• Pernod Ricard: wanted to modernize an internal application used to manage their marketing campaigns, millions of euros  impact of Theodo: 23 weeks to completely modernize the application from Vue Express to React Nest with a more pragmatic rewrite. We have also made the connection to their new ERP, previously impossible without the migration.

Profile sought:

• At least 5 years of professional experience, with confirmed experience in managing tech teams and in an ESN / consulting environment.
• Based in the Paris region, with a preference for a majority presence in the office, expected for a strategic and managerial role.

• Solid technological expertise to be credible and legitimate with teams, without being expected on the code on a daily basis.
• Ability to design scalable architectures and arbitrate technical choices in complex large-account contexts.
• Significant experience in managing technical teams, with the ability to unblock tech leads on complex technical problems.
• Capacity for analysis and resolution of complex problems, with a transverse impact in the organization.
• Strong appetite for generative AI and its use in the design and development of digital products.

• Assertive leadership and pedagogical posture to board, inspire, and progress demanding teams.
• Marked business orientation and value creation: at Theodo, we do not do tech for tech.
• Relational and communicative ease, with the ability to address all levels of interlocutors, including C-level, and to lead demanding conversations.
