Job Summary
The Buyer serves as a key liaison between manufacturing operations and supplier partners, ensuring material availability to support business needs. In this role, you will analyze ERP requirements, issue purchase orders, and monitor delivery performance. You will work closely with suppliers to resolve quality or delivery issues and support cost‑savings initiatives through negotiation and contract implementation. This position plays a critical role in managing supplier relationships, tracking performance against key metrics, and driving continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate brings a strong sense of urgency, excellent communication skills, and a desire to make an immediate, meaningful impact. Position is hybrid in Addison, TX.
- Issue purchase orders to approved suppliers to procure materials at the lowest total cost while meeting quality, reliability, and delivery requirements
- Analyze supplier quotations, select vendors, enter purchase orders, and coordinate delivery schedules
- Monitor open purchase orders and proactively expedite deliveries as needed
- Resolve supplier quality, delivery, and performance issues in collaboration with internal stakeholders
- Build and maintain strong, productive relationships with internal customers and supplier partners
- Analyze data and prepare reports; provide recommendations related to inventory levels, safety stock, and forecast consumption
- High School Diploma or GED required;
Bachelor’s degree preferred - 2–4 years of experience in supply chain, procurement, or a related field
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- ERP systems
- Purchase orders and inventory management
- Machines and parts used in metal fabrication
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills
- Experience with Microsoft D365 preferred
Work Environment;
Office Position:
This position is based at the headquarters located in Addison, TX. Minimal physical requirements, primarily computer use, and communication via virtual platforms, are necessary. Flexibility to adapt to occasional scheduled video meetings and collaborative tasks is essential.
Positions in this function typically require standing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
Concentrated mental and/or visual attention. The work involves performing complex tasks to very close accuracy and quality specifications, or a high degree of hand and eye coordination for sustained periods.
The job is typically performed under comfortable working conditions; any disagreeable elements are generally absent during normal performance of job.
Compliance with company attendance standards.
Sedentary Work:
Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
