Logistics And Material Planning Manager
We are seeking an experienced Logistics and Material Planning Manager with expertise in handling, packaging, and shipping energetics and weapon systems, combined with responsibility for material planning. The successful candidate ensures safe, compliant, and efficient movement of critical materials while optimizing material availability for production and program execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead logistics operations for energetics, ammunition, and weapon systems, ensuring safe handling.
- Develop and maintain logistics strategies for specialized materials.
- Coordinate transportation with government agencies, suppliers, and carriers.
- Manage warehouse operations and hazardous materials storage controls.
- Own material planning activities ensuring production schedules are met.
- Analyze demand and lead times to maintain inventory levels.
- Coordinate BOM and material requirements with Procurement and Engineering.
- Monitor supplier performance and material availability risks.
- Ensure compliance with DOT, IATA, IMDG, and DoD explosive safety regulations.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on packaging specifications.
- Troubleshoot logistics and material flow challenges and implement solutions.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of logistics experience with energetics or hazardous materials.
- Experience in material planning and inventory management.
- Knowledge of government contracting and defense logistics systems.
- Expert knowledge of hazardous materials regulations (49 CFR, IATA DGR, IMDG Code).
Security Requirements:
- Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Ability to manage sensitive and classified materials.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Military logistics background.
- Experience with international shipments of controlled materials.
- Familiarity with AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality systems.
Working Conditions:
- Office and warehouse environment.
- Occasional travel to vendor and government sites.
- May require work in secure or classified areas.
- Exposure to industrial/hazardous environments with ITAR Requirements.

Physical Requirements:
- Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit and to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 25 pounds; may require minimal walking, standing for extended amounts of time, climbing, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.
May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat.
