Maintenance Tech, PRN

General Summary Of Duties

This maintenance tech is responsible for assisting in preventive maintenance and reporting documentation of the hospital to provide a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for patients, staff, and visitors. The position is onsite only.

• Minimum of one year of experience in building mechanical equipment.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Some college education preferred.
• Ability to read, write and follow safety directions as required.
• Experience with painting and minor maintenance work preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

• Make minor mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and painting repairs as requested.
• Maintain and beautify the facility and grounds.
• Conduct scheduled inspections and maintenance throughout the facility.
• Maintain and test the emergency power system to ensure availability of power to all entrances, exits, fire detection alarms, extinguishing equipment, and life support systems.
• Keep all essential equipment (e.g., boiler room equipment, nursing unit medication, etc.) in safe operating condition.
• Work day shift (8:00 A–5:00 P), weekends, and on‑call schedules.
• Remain flexible for other duties and special projects assigned.

• Lifts and/or carries over 20 pounds on a regular basis and pushes/pulls over 25 pounds on a regular basis.
• Stands and/or walks at least 5 hours per day.
• Frequently required to sit, converse, listen, use hands to touch, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
• Close vision required and ability to adjust focus.
