Overview
A rapidly expanding, private‑equity–backed healthcare organization is hiring an Accounting Director to lead accounting operations across multiple practice locations. This role supports ongoing acquisitions, complex integrations, and the transition from fragmented legacy systems into a standardized, GAAP‑based environment.
What You’ll Do- Oversee the preparation of GAAP‑compliant monthly, quarterly, and annual financials
- Ensure private‑equity reporting packages are delivered accurately and on time
- Manage external audits and coordinate with audit partners
- Oversee year‑end tax process with third‑party providers
- Drive month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close improvements (goal to reduce close timeline significantly)
- Build and enforce internal controls across newly acquired practices
- Identify process gaps and implement scalable, standardized accounting procedures
- Support financial due diligence, acquisition onboarding, and post‑acquisition integration
- Partner with local practice teams to transition from cash‑basis or Quick Books‑based workflows to corporate GAAP and Net Suite
- Train practice managers and clinicians on core accounting concepts and reporting expectations
- Lead, mentor, and develop a growing accounting team
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance;
CPA required - 8+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Experience in a private‑equity–backed
, multi‑location healthcare environment - Background in public accounting strongly valued for analytical rigor and mindset
- Experience with cash‑to‑accrual transitions across provider‑based organizations
- Proficiency in Net Suite; implementation experience is a plus
- Strong GAAP knowledge and internal controls expertise
- Ability to influence practice leaders, gain buy‑in, and build cross‑functional trust
- Comfort working in a small, fast‑moving team with shifting priorities
- M&A exposure or due diligence experience preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to be both personable and firm on standards
- Base: $150K–$175K
- Bonus: ~20%
- Full‑time role reporting to the Controller
- Hybrid schedule (Mon–Wed onsite; Thu–Fri remote with flexibility)
- Two direct reports; growing team as more practices are acquired
