Finance Europe & Corporate At Chanel
In a context of continuous transformation, the Finance Europe & Corporate function at Chanel is actively evolving through projects aimed at optimizing its working methods, processes, and information systems.
Main Missions:Reporting to the Director of European Accounting, you will be involved in the following missions:
- Operational pilotage of customer accounting:
- Ensure the reliability, compliance, and robustness of accounting operations related to customers in compliance with French and IFRS standards, for all entities within the scope (9 entities)
- Interact and facilitate the transversality of exchanges with the supplier accounting manager and the general and fixed assets accounting manager.
- Prepare and coordinate the accounting closures related to customer accounts, respecting the global calendar,
- Supervise and validate the work produced by the accounting manager and credit managers on customer accounts: cut-off entries, customer depreciations, analytical comments,
- Ensure regulatory monitoring (tax, legal, accounting) and adapt accounting writing schemes according to the evolution of accounting standards, tax, and business changes,
- Coordinate and supervise responses to audits (tax, administrative, internal, and auditors) for customer accounts,
- Ensure internal control in collaboration with transformation teams (completeness of audit board reporting, post-defined internal control in tools)
- Write technical memos for external auditors, management control, tax direction, and other stakeholders,
- Knowledge of commercial activity and prevention of third-party default risks:
- Ensure the quality of customer data in the customer database to address the compliance of invoicing flows,
- Supervise the credit management cell to manage the risks of customers and suppliers: management of the European credit insurance policy, financial analysis of strategic partners, risk mapping.
- Maintain and develop external partnerships (COFACE, Intersud, Pouey, Marsh etc…)
- Monitor the follow-up of aged balances and coordinate corrective actions with commercial and purchasing functions.
- Monitor performance evolutions (DSO & DPO) and trigger alerts in case of drifts.
- Ensure the internal control of customer lines in progress.
- Sensitize internal clients to financial analysis, risk management, and cash culture.
- Digital transformation and continuous improvement:
- Be a driver in the strategy of transformation and digitalization of third-party accounting processes (automation, robotization, dematerialization of invoices, integration of finance IT tools…).
- Actively accompany the change management and the diffusion of best practices within teams.
- Collaborate with ADV and transformation teams in charge of deployment projects and continuous process improvement.
- Contribute to the continuous adaptation of accounting schemes in connection with regulatory, business, and technological developments,
- Supervise the digitalization of third-party account documentation and the implementation of RPA/IA dedicated solutions.
- Team management and development:
- Manage a team of 7 employees, including 3 in direct management, by promoting talent development and professional progression within the company.
- Maintain a culture of collaboration, innovation, and open-mindedness, in line with the dynamic instilled at the departmental level.
- Coordinate recruitment in close collaboration with the HR department.
- Build and supervise the service budget in connection with your management and the management control.
- Higher education degree Bac+5 (Business School, Engineer, Master in Finance or equivalent), good mastery of French and IFRS accounting standards is an advantage,
- Confirmed experience (10 years minimum) in management and financial direction, ideally in a transformation context,
- Proven relational and managerial skills, ability to rally and support team development,
- Excellent command of Excel, good knowledge of SAP and finance IT tools (AX, Oracle, TM1)
- Appetite for project work and change support,
- Fluent English (spoken and written) indispensable
- Direct reporting to the Director of European Accounting, guarantor of accounting performance and cohesion of all teams in France and Europe
- Close collaboration with the Finance function teams, as well as with support functions (legal, IT, management control, treasury, procurement, etc.)
