Sr. Professional, Communications

The Converse Communications team shapes how Converse shows up in culture—connecting the brand to the worlds of fashion, style, music, sport and youth creativity through bold, credible storytelling.

This role is for a communications professional who is deeply connected to culture, brings strong media instincts, and understands how brands earn relevance today. The Sr. Professional, Communications is a confident external storyteller and relationship builder with a clear point of view, capable of creating earned moments, navigating fast-moving media cycles, and placing Converse meaningfully within cultural conversation.

Working closely with the Communications Director and agency partners, this role helps develop and execute external communications and media strategies, with Paris serving as a critical cultural hub.

Required:

  • Proven experience in communications, PR or media relations, ideally within fashion, lifestyle, culture or creative industries.
  • A strong Paris-based media network, with demonstrated relationships across established and emerging outlets—including fashion, culture, sport, lifestyle and youth media, as well as streamers, podcasters and Substack writers.
  • Excellent writing and storytelling skills, with strong editorial judgment.
  • Deep understanding of the fashion ecosystem, including stylists, influencers and cultural taste makers.
  • Strong news sense and confidence operating in fast-moving media environments.
  • A clear cultural point of view and passion for style, youth culture and creative expression.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects at pace while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.

Preferred:

  • Experience working with a fashion, sneaker or culture-driven brand.
  • Strong understanding of sport as culture (basketball, skate), rather than performance sport.
  • Experience partnering with global teams while operating confidently at local market level.
  • Comfort working with high-profile talent, creatives and collaborators.

In this role, you will help bring Converse's strategic narrative to life across Paris and FR media. You will:

  • Drive culture-led earned media storytelling that connects Converse to fashion, youth culture, creativity, music and sport.
  • Own and grow relationships across fashion, culture, lifestyle and youth media in Paris—strengthening established connections while building new relationships across emerging platforms, including streamers, podcasters and Substack writers.
  • Develop and execute press strategies for product launches, collaborations and key cultural moments.
  • Shape narratives across stylist, influencer and tastemaker ecosystems, partnering closely with Brand and Marketing teams.
  • Manage reactive communication and commentary, operating with confidence in fast-moving news cycles.
  • Partner with agency teams to generate coverage that is culturally credible, timely and impactful.
  • Work cross-functionally with Brand, Product and Marketing partners to ensure aligned and consistent external storytelling.
  • Stay deeply embedded in culture—tracking emerging trends, voices and moments that matter to Converse's audience.
  • Identify and forge strategic local partnerships and event collaborations that enhance visibility and connect the brand to cultural moments.
  • Contribute to global events when necessary, working closely with teammates in Paris, Milan and Berlin and around the globe in other territories.
  • Support proactive and reactive media engagement across brand, product, and cultural moments.
  • Draft press materials including releases, statements, media alerts, and Q&A documents.
  • Monitor media coverage, cultural trends, and industry news to inform communication strategies.
  • Support media training, briefing materials, and preparation for spokesperson interviews.
  • Maintain media lists, coverage reports, and communication workflows.
