Job Description Installer 2
The Data Center / CO Tech's primary role is to plan and implement infrastructure and services through project work for moderate complexity level requests.
Essential Duties:
· Builds, dresses, and deploys infrastructure, and platforms installations to specifications.
· Work with minimum supervision
· Physically build the product following the hardware job specifications and drawings
Required Qualifications:
Experience with installing Switches & Routers and frames and infrastructure.
Experience in Data Center/ CO environments
Experience with Optical Networking Equipment
Lead Installation Technician should have a minimum of 1-2 years Data Center/PoP/CO installation experience.
Possess a good mechanical aptitude.
Must possess a good knowledge of basic power tools operation.
Ability to adapt to various work environments
Should have a basic knowledge of optical/cable routing installation standards
Basic knowledge and understanding of AC/DC power
Should have basic knowledge of Data center / Central office infrastructure installation work
Meet Network Equipment Installation/Quality Industry Standards
Physical Demands:
The employee will be required to write and handle paperwork.
The employee will be required to climb and work off ladders.
The employee will be required to work under raised floors.
The employee may be required to cut and drill metal and concrete.
The employee must be able to distinguish between different colors.
The employee will be required to have a vehicle to travel to customer sites
The employee will be required to lift weight up to 50 pounds.
Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less) is generally required, as the employee will be working at a computer and cable color coding, working with files & paperwork, working with tools, and working on specialized computer & networking devices.
