Journeyman Electrician​/Solar Technician

General Overview

Good Faith Energy is searching for a skilled electrician to join our solar installation team. The role requires a broad range of electrical skills, including experience with Tesla, Enphase, Fronius, and Solar Edge systems, and the ability to travel daily and overnight to job sites.

Must travel 2-3 weeks per month with per diem pay.

• Fully qualified to work with Project Management to understand and evaluate scheduled electrical work for timely project completion.
• Perform all duties of a Crew Lead, leading and training crew members.
• Perform roof work.
• Have experience with Tesla, Enphase, Fronius, and Solar Edge systems.
• Self-prepare for all electrical scopes by evaluating site assessment photos and communicating changes or improvements to PM and Design teams.
• Maintain tools and materials needed to adapt to field challenges, including utility shutdowns.
• Communicate at an advanced level with city inspectors.
• Maintain a 90% or higher pass rate on all electrical equipment wall installations and fewer than 10% service calls from installation quality issues.
• Cross-train and develop crew while supervising solar installation crews, allowing roof crew leads to perform installations while maintaining quality control checks.
• Supervise crew while an electrical apprentice gains experience on wall installations and service upgrades.
• Use required personal tools of the trade.
• In the first 90 days, learn to install Tesla Powerwall coupled with Enphase solar systems.
• Run own crew with a helper installing Powerwall and solar systems.
• Pass a proficiency test to become a Lead Electrician; the test includes installing a complete battery and solar system independently.
• Receive on-the-job training and classroom materials to advance knowledge of installation systems.
• Attend all meetings and conference calls.
• Perform in a manner consistent with company Core Values.
• Maintain strict confidentiality.
• Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
• Follow all OSHA and other safety guidelines.
• Demonstrate teamwork at all times.
• Adhere to company safety standards such that no serious injury occurred during the prior 12-month period.
• Follow policies and procedures to avoid verbal or written warnings during the evaluation period.
• Additional duties may be assigned as needed to meet customer needs and maintain competitiveness.

Electricians work outside and inside attics or other tight spaces, requiring acclimation to ambient temperatures. The job involves standing, sitting, walking, climbing, reaching, pulling, and lifting up to 75 lbs. Work hours are 8-10 hours per day.

• 2-3 years of experience in the solar industry.
• Current Journeyman License.
• Valid driver's license with a clean record.
• OSHA 10 certified.
• Qualified to operate a company truck and heavy equipment, including trenchers, man lifts, and forklifts.
• Proficient in safety gear use and supervising work above 6 ft, on roofs, and on ladders.
• CPR certified.
• Ability to read all installation product manuals for proper installation of devices.
• Communicate effectively through work-related chat/email chains, providing documentation (photos) of quality control checks at specific points during installation.
