OVERVIEW

Permanent Direct Hire Irving Texas

Important:
This is not a Controls Engineer or Planner

  • Location: Irving, Texas 75039
  • Work Allocation: Approximately 60% hands‑on plant support and 40% planning, SAP administration, documentation, and coordination
  • Position Focus: Lead daily plant maintenance, direct mechanic assignments, plan scheduled work, and help resolve electrical and mechanical equipment failures
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Direct daily maintenance activities, distribute assignments, review completed work, hold mechanics accountable for safety and quality, mentor team members, and communicate job status to plant leadership.
  • Develop a preliminary maintenance schedule one week in advance, review priorities daily, coordinate required labor and materials, and adjust assignments based on production needs.
  • Manage SAP maintenance activity by reviewing notifications, creating and scheduling work orders, recording labor, closing completed work, rescheduling outstanding tasks, and documenting equipment history.
  • Inspect plant equipment for emerging issues and coordinate repairs before failures interrupt production.
  • Ensure equipment‑care inspections and preventive maintenance assignments are completed according to the established PM program.
  • Install, modify, repair, and maintain plant machinery while supporting equipment upgrades, control modernization, engineering improvements, valve controls, and automation‑related projects.
  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, diagrams, maintenance instructions, technical references, and equipment schedules.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Five or more years of related industrial maintenance experience involving electrical, mechanical, or hydraulic machinery in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Previous experience leading maintenance employees, coordinating assignments, planning work, and supporting preventive maintenance programs.
  • Strong mechanical, rotating‑equipment, electrical wiring, and equipment‑troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose equipment failures systematically and determine root causes.
  • Proficiency with the SAP Plant Maintenance module, including notifications, work orders, labor confirmation, scheduling, and closure.
  • Basic understanding of PLCs, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, blueprints, electrical diagrams, and mechanical schematics.
  • Skilled use of industrial hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and safe rigging methods.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Active manufacturing environment involving indoor and outdoor assignments, no climate control, weather exposure, elevated noise, temperature extremes, ladders, platforms, and stairs.
  • Must be comfortable spending substantial time in the plant instead of working primarily from an office.
  • Ability to stand for 10 to 12 hours, repeatedly climb stairs and equipment, and enter and exit a forklift.
  • Ability to bend, twist, squat, and move freely at the waist and knees throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull approximately 40 pounds, potentially more than 100 times per day.
  • Ability to perform repetitive hand, arm, and leg movements while handling tools, equipment, objects, and machine controls.
