Position: Extraction Technician I

Position Summary

Extraction Technician I supports extraction and production operations. The role focuses on preparing, weighing, and ensuring the quality of input and output material, requiring strong attention to detail and an understanding of extraction equipment and science.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform incoming inspections (moisture, texture, overall quality, size, etc.) on batches of flower and pre‑roll material.
  • Ensure proper bud size per brand standard, weigh and package flower, fresh frozen, and/or trim during and after machine operation.
  • Assist with auxiliary duties (fill socks, retrieve material, monitor ovens, etc.) and support Extraction Technician II during operations.
  • Perform basic machine setup, inventory documentation, and observe/record metrics of operation.
  • Conduct and document routine equipment checks and minor adjustments during operations.
  • Fill out all required paperwork and PM documentation, submitting any equipment issues to leads and Facilities and Maintenance.
  • Verify that the sealing machine operates correctly and meets standard seal quality.
  • Maintain cleaning processes for equipment, supplies, and area, complete verification paperwork, and ensure PPE is used as per cGMP and Trulieve maintenance standards.
  • Keep detailed records of completed tasks for documentation and traceability; collaborate with the facilities and maintenance team to resolve issues.
  • Monitor equipment performance against SOPs and report anomalies or concerns to Extraction Technician II or III.
  • Notify leads of quality, machine operation, and material challenges and document fixes performed.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
  • Experience with controls and instrumentation.
  • Timely return from breaks.
  • Work well in a fast‑paced, controlled environment.
  • Comfortable working with chemicals, oils, and sharp objects.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Can work with minimal supervision and under pressure.
  • Able to manage changes in working schedule.
  • Experience entering data into SAP/Emaint/state‑mandated systems (Metrc, Biotrack, MJ Freeway) preferred.
  • Outstanding communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
Additional

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 21 years of age (or 18 years in CT, PA, and WV).
  • Successfully completed comprehensive background screening.
Physical Requirements
  • Work in close proximity with cannabis flower and particulates daily.
  • Lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving at least 50 lbs to a height of 5 ft and up to 50 ft distance, with or without mechanical assistance.
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on safety.
  • Work seated or standing as appropriate for extended periods, including climbing ladders and reaching tasks.
  • Wear PPE as required (eye, face, hand, arm, head, foot, body, fall protection).
  • Visual acuity sufficient for reading, computer work, and inspection of small parts (20 ft clarity).
  • Proven mechanical and problem‑solving aptitude.
  • Effective verbal communication with coworkers and leadership.
  • Work in an environment with continuous low‑level sound (moderate noise).
Work Schedule

40+ hours weekly with flexible hours depending on department needs. Availability for occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays required.
