Job SummaryUnder ongoing supervision, loads and unloads pipe, raw materials, coils, and other materials required by the facility.
Essential Functions and Major Responsibilities- Loads materials and equipment safely and efficiently onto vehicles.
- Unloads materials and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Counts and marks all materials.
- Operates forklift in a safe manner.
- Participates in all inventories.
- Performs other duties as requested by the Mill Supervisor.
- Ensures SOX and Project Stock procedures are performed correctly.
- Follows ISO procedures.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and the general public.
- Mathematical skills: calculate figures (discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages) and apply basic algebra and geometry.
- Reasoning ability: define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and handle abstract and concrete variables.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one to two years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Demands and Work Environment- Regularly required to talk or hear; frequently required to stand, walk, hand to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
- Occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Vision requirements: close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception; ability to adjust focus.
- Exposure to loud noise, vibration, and weather conditions as described in the work environment.
- Personal protective equipment required includes hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, and reflective vest.
