Position Summary

Ecology Auto Parts, Inc. is seeking a qualified and experienced Class A Driver to join our Transportation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of materials using flatbed trailers. This role requires a Class A commercial driver's license (CDL) and a strong commitment to safety and compliance with transportation regulations. The Flatbed Driver will play a crucial role in ensuring timely and secure deliveries while upholding our commitment to environmental sustainability.

In addition to traditional flatbed hauling, this position offers the opportunity to train and cross-learn End‑Dump operations as part of our Scrap Transportation team. Drivers will spend part of the week on flatbed routes and part of the week supporting end-dump assignments, gaining valuable experience with multiple trailer types while contributing to safe and efficient material movement.

Responsibilities
  • Safely operate Flatbed Trailers to transport materials to designated locations.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws, regulations, and company policies to ensure safe transportation.
  • Inspect and maintain the condition of the Flatbed Trailers, reporting any issues promptly.
  • Load and unload materials in a secure and efficient manner, following proper procedures.
  • Complete required paperwork, such as logbooks and delivery receipts, accurately and on time.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, team members, and clients to ensure smooth transportation operations.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the Flatbed Trailers to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Follow established routes and schedules, adjusting as necessary to accommodate changes.
  • Adhere to environmental regulations and company guidelines for the proper disposal of materials.
Requirements
  • Valid Class A commercial driver's license (REQUIRED) with endorsements (preferred).
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Class A Driver, with a focus on flatbed trailer operations (REQUIRED).
  • Strong understanding of transportation regulations and safety protocols.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated reliability and a commitment to meeting delivery deadlines.
  • Familiarity with DOT regulations and logbook requirements.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
Physical Demands & Environmental Factors
  • Regularly required to sit; use hands to operate the vehicle; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Work may involve exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
Compensation and Benefits

The Flatbed Driver position offers a competitive salary range of $36,400.00 to $83,200.00 per year, based on experience, performance, routes, load quantity, bonuses accrued, and other factors.
