Global Compensation Analyst II – Office of Compensation
Exempt, Regular, Full Time, Pay Grade 2.3.
Location:
Hybrid (Onsite presence determined by leadership).
University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) is seeking a Global Compensation Analyst II to join our Compensation Rewards team. This role is ideal for a data‑driven professional who can translate compensation data into actionable insights and support key compensation programs across a global workforce.
You will leverage Workday, modern technologies, including AI‑enabled capabilities—to enhance reporting, improve processes, and inform pay decisions.
Job Duties- Conduct market pricing and benchmarking using external survey data and internal job information.
- Analyze compensation metrics (e.g., compa‑ratio, pay equity indicators, market positioning) and translate findings into clear recommendations.
- Support compensation cycles in Workday, including data validation, process monitoring, and issue resolution.
- Assist in developing dashboards and reports to improve visibility into compensation trends and outcomes.
- Identify patterns, anomalies, and risks in compensation data and recommend appropriate actions.
- Partner with HR Business Partners and Talent Acquisition to support offers, promotions, and job changes.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of compensation processes through automation and workflow optimization.
- Support enhancements to Workday and reporting tools to improve efficiency and scalability.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business, Economics, or related field.
- Two years of Compensation experience.
- Hands‑on experience with Workday (reporting, data management, or compensation processes).
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis).
- Ability to interpret data and clearly communicate insights to stakeholders.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar).
- Experience leveraging automation or AI‑supported tools in reporting or data analysis.
- Experience in a global or multi‑state compensation environment.
- CCP certification (or progress toward certification).
