SUMMARY
Responsible for working in a collaborative effort to provide direct and indirect case management services for the families of children ages birth to five; such services include utilizing relationship-based practice with a systems approach. This includes but is not limited to coordination and promotion of parent education, parent/child wellness, and age appropriate development.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
The Head Start Family Advocate reports to the Family Engagement Manager or designee.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

REQUIRED EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret program policies and procedures. Ability to document case notes per program policies and procedures.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES
Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory in specific field. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff and the community. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
Knowledge, skill and ability in the use of e-mail, internet, spreadsheets and word-processing.
