Job Title
To assist students with impairments through consultation, counseling and tutoring, to reach their potential as mature, able and responsible adults
A day in the life:
A typical day involves evaluating students with visual impairments, developing and supporting IEPs, providing direct instruction and specialized services (such as Braille, assistive technology, and mobility skills), collaborating with teachers and families, attending meetings, maintaining required documentation, and ensuring students receive the accommodations and support they need to succeed.

Education and/or Experience
Required:
- Master's Degree in Education
- 3 Years teaching experience
- Endorsement in visual impairment
- Able to read, type and teach Braille; familiarity with useful assistive devices and the unique needs of students with visual impairments
Preferred:
- Teacher Consultant approval by Michigan State Board of Education
- Experience as a Teacher Consultant
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate
Terms of Employment
Weeks, salary, and fringe benefits per LIEA master contract. Salaried, Exempt
