BOM Analyst
The BOM Analyst will support the Engineering Department by creating, maintaining, and auditing Bills of Materials (BOMs) for new, existing, and custom products. This role is essential to ensuring product accuracy, smooth production flow, and alignment with ongoing engineering changes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working cross-functionally in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities- Develop, manage, and maintain accurate BOMs for new product launches, engineering revisions, and customer-specific configurations.
- Update BOMs in response to engineering change notices (ECNs), product updates, and production feedback.
- Review engineering drawings and specifications to ensure correct materials, quantities, and component relationships.
- Coordinate with engineering, production, and purchasing to ensure materials are accurate, available, and properly documented.
- Maintain and update all BOM documentation within Oracle, ensuring data integrity and adherence to company standards.
- Conduct BOM audits to verify accuracy, identify gaps, and maintain compliance with ASC processes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve BOM discrepancies, including incorrect part numbers, inaccurate quantities, or missing components.
- Utilize ASC business processes and systems to support continuous improvement of BOM accuracy and workflow.
- Previous experience in manufacturing, engineering, or product development environments.
- 3–5 years of hands-on Oracle experience.
- Strong understanding of BOM structures, engineering documentation, and manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
- Ability to analyze data, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate across engineering, production, and purchasing.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working directly with ECNs or engineering change management processes.
- Prior exposure to CAD files, drawings, or PLM systems (even at a basic level).
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement concepts.
- Experience supporting new product introductions (NPIs) or custom product configurations.
The work environment is fast-paced and manufacturing-oriented, requiring cross-functional collaboration with engineering, production, and purchasing teams. The role involves working with Oracle systems and requires proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Teams. Employees are expected to maintain a high level of detail, accuracy, and organization while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Adrian, MI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr.
