The City of Adrian is accepting applications for a Planning and Zoning Administrator to manage the implementation of the zoning code, laws, and regulations, as well as the zoning review process. This position works under the direction of the Building Official and serves as staff liaison to the Planning Commission and other boards. Responsibilities include completion of the land development review process from application to commission recommendation;
assisting with zoning changes, ordinance amendments, and master planning. Other duties include interpreting and applying state and local codes, ordinances and regulations related to planning and preparing monthly meeting materials.
Qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration or related field with two or more years of planning or community development experience in municipal government. A Master’s Degree in Urban Planning and American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification is preferred. Candidates must possess and maintain a valid State of Michigan driver’s license.
