Our District Support Pharmacists (DSPs) play a critical role in cultivating a culture of excellence within each pharmacy by acting as a role model, demonstrating genuine care, and setting the bar for the pharmacy team.

• Live our purpose by helping to manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices.
• Travel the district to fill pharmacist shifts as scheduled and oversee the pharmacy, serving as the Pharmacy Manager’s proxy during bench shifts without overlap.
• Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following pharmacy workflow procedures and directing the pharmacy team to do the same, utilizing safety guardrails at every workstation.
• Assume Pharmacy Manager’s day‑to‑day duties when serving as the only or primary pharmacist‑on‑duty.
• Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care, coaching the pharmacy team to do the same, and proactively resolving insurance and medication issues.
• Proactively offer and deliver immunizations, engaging and supporting Pharmacy Technicians to learn to immunize.
• Support effective management of pharmacy inventory in all pharmacies worked, following inventory best practices and protecting cold‑chain products.
• Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, contributing to a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic.
• Maintain relevant clinical and technical skills, actively seek opportunities to expand knowledge, and stay current with company‑required trainings and CMEs.
• Support access to care and improve patient outcomes through pharmacist‑delivered clinical care such as testing and prescribing services where permissible, empowering the pharmacy team to provide holistic care.
• Understand and comply with all relevant federal and state laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles, and comply with CVS Health policies and procedures to support patient safety and privacy.

• Active Pharmacist License in the state where the store is located.
• Active National Provider Identifier (NPI).
• Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list.

• Ability to travel within a reasonable radius to support market staffing as business needs require.
• Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
• Ability to complete required training within designated time frames.
