RN - Hospice Home (Contingent, PRN) Job Summary:
Hospice of Lenawee, a 5-STAR Medicare.gov rated hospice, is seeking a compassionate Michigan licensed RN for a contingent position in our 8-bed inpatient Hospice Home. The RN will provide personalized, patient-centered care to individuals and their families. We are looking for someone with a genuine calling to support those in the last season of life (hospice experience preferred, but we are willing to train).
RN - Hospice Home (Contingent, PRN) Pay & Benefits:
- Salary:

- $3/hour contingent stipend
- $1/hour night shift differential

- Contingent:
Work a minimum of 12 hours per month after the completion of your introductory period to include at least 2 weekend shifts per quarter based on departmental needs - Day
Shift: 7:00 a.m.
- 7:30 p.m. - Night
Shift: 7:00 p.m.
- 7:30 a.m. - Work a minimum of 72 hours per year
- Work two (2) holidays per year at least one (1) of them a winter holiday based on departmental needs
RN - Hospice Home (Contingent, PRN) Requirements:
- Graduate of an approved School of Nursing
- Current Michigan Registered Nurse License
- BSN degree, preferred
- CPR certification, required
- Food handler card, required
- Two years of clinical nursing experience in hospice, home health, or oncology nursing, preferred; experience in healthcare is required
- Experience with dying patients and their families, hospice experience preferred
- Provides skilled nursing care based on sound organizational, analytical and problem-solving techniques, and accepted standards of care.
- Develops a comprehensive care plan that addresses physical, emotional, cultural, and spiritual needs of the patient and family based on input from the patient, family, and interdisciplinary team.
- Assesses patient and family response to related plan of care interventions.
- Aggressively advocates for pain and symptom management.
- Teaches, supervises, and counsels the patient and family regarding care issues.
- Directs and supervises LPN and Hospice Aide.
- Assists with patient personal care, laundry, dietary, and housekeeping services as needed.
