Director of Nursing – Adrian Dominicans Sisters Mother house Campus

We are a team of caregivers and support staff who provide an enriching and compassionate environment to the Adrian Dominican Sisters in their home at the Dominican Life Center, our nursing/retirement home environment. Our Sisters live in assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing communities and we take great pride in providing our Sisters with the best care and environment in their retirement.

Pay: 90,000 – 100,000/yr. based on experience.

Hours:

Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm. At least 40 hours per week. Occasional availability outside of work hours necessary. Some off-shift and weekend presence is required.

In this role you will
  • Develop annual nursing department goals and objectives in keeping with the overall Mission Statement of the Adrian Dominican Sisters. Endorsing the concept of holistic care and promotes its practice in Nursing Services.
  • Formulate nursing policies and procedures; develop and evaluate nursing protocols and standards of practice.
  • Collaborate with Medical Director regarding Standing Orders, nursing outreach to outside Providers, pharmacy practices, etc.
  • Establish and oversee method of regular resident acuity assessments to determine appropriate staffing ratios. Responsible for hiring, evaluation, and discipline.
  • Development and implementation of Nursing Services' budget.
  • Supervise completion of nursing payroll and analyze payroll data to determine budgetary implications.
  • Oversee all nursing personnel issues in a manner that promotes teamwork and focus on resident care.
  • Evaluate the need for equipment and supplies; determine cost effective processes for acquisition, establish policies and procedures assuring availability, and utilize reimbursement resources.
  • Participate in educational programs to remain knowledgeable of current issues in nursing administration and the practice of geriatric nursing.
  • Supervise the development of nursing staff education programs. Encourage participation by all nursing employees.
  • Coordinate the nursing management team, focusing on delegation of responsibilities and enhancement of skill levels.
  • Apprise Dominican Life Center Administrator of health status of residents, including hospitalized residents. Consult clinically with hospital staff and review medical records as requested by the Chapter Prioress and/or Administrator.
  • Promote safe and effective medication therapy; monitor staff compliance with established policies and procedures for medication distribution, control, and administration.
  • Participate in the DLC Executive Team, Department Directors' management team, Interdisciplinary Team, selected committees, particularly those involving clinical services and resident safety, and other groups as appropriate.
  • Assist Administrator in developing and maintaining an interdisciplinary quality assurance performance improvement program.
  • Oversee admission and discharge of residents to and from nursing units in the Dominican Life Center.
