Holy Cross Academy is a vibrant Catholic school community serving students from preschool through 8th grade, with over 500 students enrolled. Our Early Childhood Campus
, located in Affton, Missouri
, serves children ages 2–5 and provides a nurturing, faith-based environment that fosters learning, creativity, and growth. The After School Program Assistant will support the care and supervision of children ages 2–5 during the afternoon program. Working collaboratively with a team of 2–3 staff members, assistants help create a fun, safe, and engaging environment. Responsibilities include supervising indoor and outdoor play, assisting with snacks, and facilitating age-appropriate activities.

This position is ideal for high school or college students interested in early childhood education or those seeking part-time, meaningful work in a supportive setting.

Supervise and engage children in a variety of activities including games, block building, storytime, and art projects

Lead or assist with physical activities such as parachute games, “Simon Says,” bike riding, and outdoor play

Monitor children during snack time and ensure a safe, inclusive environment

Support diapering, potty training, and restroom supervision as needed, based on age group

Maintain a clean and organized space, including wiping tables and cleaning floors after snacks and activities

Build positive, friendly relationships with families during child pick-up

Must be at least 16 years old to apply

Ability to manage and supervise groups of 6–10 young children

Comfortable navigating stairs and outdoor playground surfaces

Ability to sit on the floor or in small chairs to interact with children

Ability to lift up to 40 lbs regularly

Protecting God’s Children training and Archdiocesan background check (provided upon hire)
