INSTRUCTIONAL STAFF ASSISTANTS (9-12)

Full‑time. Salary: $16.74 to $25.42 per hour.

To assist the administration by providing support to school educational programs through appropriate classroom supports, activities and a learning environment that enables students to learn effectively and experience a smoothly functioning program.

Assist teachers and staff with classroom support activities; maintain a positive learning environment; perform administrative tasks and support instructional programs as needed.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Substitute certification required: 60 college credit hours or an associate’s degree or higher, a passing score on the Missouri Paraprofessional Assessment (before or after September 23, 2013), or completion of Missouri’s 20‑hour online substitute training program.
• Teaching certification preferred.
• Experience working in a school setting preferred.
• Experience working with children preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Docs, email, and office equipment preferred.
• Excellent attendance required.
• Ability to listen well and respond to student questions in a professional manner required.
• Ability to redirect and interact positively with students required.
• Ability to work independently, use good judgment, think quickly, and respond calmly and caringly required.
• Ability to remain flexible and positive with job demands while staying focused on mission and tasks required.
• Team‑player skills, communication, and collaboration with staff required.
• Ability to develop effective relationships with students and the school community required.
• Ability to work with a multi‑ethnic, multicultural student population required.
• Willingness to learn new material and attend professional development as needed required.
• Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
