Industrial Water Treatment Field And Project Engineer
Nalco, a company of Ecolab, is looking for an Industrial Water Treatment Field And Project Engineer to join their Nalco Water team.
We are seeking a professional with proven experience in industrial environments and on-site project execution, combining technical capabilities with project management skills, including cost control, schedules, and performance indicators.

What You Will Do:
- Execute and lead technical projects in the field, including survey, installation, commissioning, and follow-up of dosing systems and chemical applications.
- Work directly at industrial plants with clients, ensuring the correct operation of systems, identifying deviations, and executing on-site solutions.
- Manage projects comprehensively, including:
- Budget and cost control
- Schedule tracking
- Management of service and performance indicators (KPIs)
- Propose and implement technical and operational improvements that optimize system performance and generate value for the client.
- Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure the correct execution of projects.
- Prepare technical and administrative reports on the progress of projects and services.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Degree in Engineering (mechanical, electrical, electronic, mechatronics, industrial, or related).
- Proven field experience (essential) in industrial plants (water treatment, fluid processes, or industrial services).
- Experience in project management with a focus on both technical and administrative aspects, including:
- Budget management
- Deviation control
- Performance indicator tracking
- Experience in the implementation or execution of on-site projects (not just from the office).
- Experience in direct interaction with industrial clients.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Availability to travel between 50% and 70% of the time in Central America and the Caribbean.
- Intermediate level of English (B1+).
- American visa: desirable (nice to have).
Physical Requirements:
- Occasionally required to lift up to fifty (50) pounds, carry, bend, and ability to push weights up to 100 pounds
- Must be able to work under pressure and perform a varied combination of activities such as standing, sitting, walking, and bending
- Frequent need to climb and descend stairs
- Good visual coordination, as well as auditory, verbal, and depth perception capabilities are needed
- Must be able to work in unfavorable working conditions, such as exposure to noise, heat, oil, vapors, and other elements
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in water treatment or specialized chemical industry
- Practical knowledge of boilers, cooling towers, and wastewater treatment systems
- Knowledge/Tools:
- Interpretation of engineering drawings and documents (PFD, P&, electrical diagrams, isometrics, etc.)
- Knowledge of analytical control systems: pH, ORP, Conductivity, Turbidity, Chlorine, among others
- Knowledge of chemical dosing systems; solids and liquids
- Knowledge of electromagnetic, electro-mechanical, pneumatic, centrifugal, screw pumps, among others
- Handling of electrical tools; multimeter, ammeter clamp, 4-20mA loop simulator
- Handling of small hand tools for mechanical service and installation
- Handling of MS Project
- Handling of Solidworks, Inventor, or Autocad
