Financial Controller/Accountant
Our client, an eCommerce multibrand company, is looking for a Financial Controller to oversee and manage all financial aspects of and its related brands. In this role, you'll ensure the accuracy of financial records, develop strategies to optimize costs, and drive financial efficiency across the portfolio. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role is integral to supporting the company's growth and achieving its ambitious goals.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Bookkeeping and Financial Cleanup
- Manage and maintain accurate financial records for all brands, including accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger entries.
- Perform monthly reconciliations and rectify any discrepancies.
2. Financial Management
- Take charge of budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for all brands.
- Share weekly reporting on financials, profits, company's health, tracking different financial metrics
- Provide actionable financial insights to guide strategic decision-making.
3. Cost Management and Savings Optimization
- Analyze expenses across all brands and identify opportunities for cost-saving measures.
- Develop and implement strategies to maximize profitability.
4. Tax Compliance
- Ensure compliance with Canadian tax laws, including Ontario and Quebec-specific regulations, for all entities.
5. Financial Strategy
- Collaborate with leadership to align financial strategies with company goals across all brands.
- Offer recommendations to improve financial performance and mitigate risks.
6. Vendor and Supplier Relations
- Oversee vendor and supplier accounts, ensuring favorable terms and cost-effectiveness for all brands.
- Monitor agreements and contracts for compliance and efficiency.
About You:
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in financial management or e-commerce.
- Proficiency in Quick Books and other accounting software.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian tax laws, including Ontario/Quebec-specific requirements.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
