Description
Pac Aero is seeking a CNC Machinist – Milling to join our machining team in Agawam, Massachusetts. In this role, you will operate and set up CNC milling equipment to manufacture high‑precision components that support critical aerospace applications — work that truly makes an impact.
We are seeking an experienced CNC machinist with at least 3 years of experience who can confidently perform machine setups, tooling changes, fixture installation, offsets, and first‑piece inspections in a precision manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have experience operating multi‑axis CNC milling equipment, including Haas, Okuma, or similar machines, and a strong commitment to producing quality parts within tight tolerances.

- Operate CNC milling machines to produce precision components according to engineering drawings, specifications, and process documentation.
- Perform machine setups, including tooling changes, fixture installation, and first‑piece runs.
- Conduct first‑piece inspections and in‑process inspections to ensure parts meet dimensional and quality requirements.
- Use available inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measurement tools to verify part accuracy.
- Document machining processes and production activities to support repeatability and future reference.
- Ensure the safety of yourself and others when working with cutting tools, CNC machines, and shop equipment.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment within the machining area.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and quality standards as outlined in the employee handbook.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Machine Shop Manager.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 3 years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment required.
- Hands‑on experience operating and setting up CNC milling machines required.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high‑quality work.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the team.
Physical Requirements
This position operates in a manufacturing environment and requires the ability to safely work around machining equipment and production machinery.
Employees in this role may be required to:
- Stand for extended periods of time.
- Lift materials or components up to 40 pounds.
- Use hand tools and precision measuring equipment.
- Work in a manufacturing environment with machine noise and moving equipment.
- Follow all safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
