Council on Aging - Van Driver (Per Diem)

AGAWAM COUNCIL ON AGING

VAN DRIVER - PER DIEM POSITION

Driver needed for per diem sub coverage. Potential work Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Hours will vary weekly, up to 18 hours as coverage is needed. Advanced notification of days needed will be given based on the weekly schedule.

Candidates are responsible for the safe and reliable transportation of senior citizens and individuals with disabilities to and from the Senior Center, appointments, and other activities. Candidates must be willing and able to assist passengers entering and exiting the vehicle, assisting with groceries, and other needs. Some lifting and bending are required.

A clean driving record is a must. Van is up to an 8 passenger handicap accessible mini bus/van. No special driver’s license is needed. Training will be provided as this role requires a combination of driving skills, strong customer service, and the ability to assist passengers with mobility devices. Driver will also be training to operate the accessible lift and in passenger securement training.

Salary is $15.00 per hour. This is a grant-funded position with no benefits. Applications will be accepted until a suitable candidate is found.
