In the area of Global Supply Chain Management of Mercedes-Benz Vans, all logistics functions for the production network of Vans are concentrated, with five plants and various cooperations worldwide. In addition, international supply chains for the supply of Vans factories and cooperation partners abroad are planned and managed.

Outbound & Global Logistics is composed of five highly motivated teams that expect your support. The responsibility covers international supply and customs, as well as capacity planning of suppliers and outbound logistics.

The team "Outbound Logistics Vans" is responsible for the global shipment of vehicles from the production plants in Düsseldorf, Ludwigsfelde, and Vitoria, as well as from body shops to our customers. Soon we will add the new plant in Jawor, Poland.

As a team, we jointly design and supervise the logistics processes of the shipment of vehicles from the production plants of Mercedes-Benz Vans under our responsibility. In this context, we manage, among others, external freight forwarders, shipping companies, port operators, and other logistics providers contracted for each plant.

One of the biggest current challenges is configuring a resilient and sustainable international transport network for the future. Our task is to expand the existing transport network, secure the necessary capacities in the market, use them specifically, and align ourselves with our logistics partners for the future. To do this, we are increasingly betting on the intelligent use of data and a customer-oriented orientation of our logistics processes, among other things, within the framework of the VERSO (Vertical Sales Operations) project together with our colleagues from Mercedes-Benz Cars.

This transformation process must be initiated, planned, and implemented by the team.

Planning, optimization, implementation, and autonomous digitalization of complex global supply chains in vehicle logistics, taking into account legal regulations and group guidelines.

Responsible implementation of new intelligent and trimodal supply chain concepts for a resilient vehicle logistics network in the Mercedes-Benz Vans division.

Autonomous analysis of the weak points of the current distribution concept of Mercedes-Benz Vans, as well as the development and implementation of quick and cost-optimized solutions, including negotiation with central procurement and logistics providers.

Preventively securing the necessary and cost-optimal transport capacities based on sales and production planning data, in order to minimize the costs of…
