Senior Accountant - Manufacturing Position SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant with manufacturing industry experience to support the company’s accounting and financial reporting functions. This role will be responsible for month-end close, financial reporting, account reconciliations, inventory accounting, cost accounting, and analysis of manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate has strong technical accounting skills and a solid understanding of manufacturing costs, inventory, and operational processes.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and execute month-end and year-end close activities, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and adjusting entries.
- Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting schedules.
- Perform detailed analysis of manufacturing costs, including direct materials, direct labor, and overhead.
- Support inventory accounting, including inventory valuation, reserves, cycle counts, and physical inventory reconciliations.
- Analyze standard costs, actual costs, purchase price variances, labor variances, and manufacturing overhead variances.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis related to manufacturing operations.
- Partner with plant operations, supply chain, procurement, and finance teams to investigate and resolve financial variances.
- Maintain accurate fixed asset records and calculate depreciation.
- Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities as needed.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies and procedures.
- Assist with internal and external audits by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting efficiency.
- Assist with implementation and enhancement of accounting systems and processes.
- Provide financial analysis and reporting to management to support business decisions.
