Opportunity Overview

As a Senior Mechanical Quality Engineer, you will drive quality across mechanical and electro-mechanical subsystems for Teradyne's semiconductor test platforms. You will partner with design, NPI, and supply chain teams to ensure robust product quality from development through production while improving design processes and reducing defects.

+ Lead quality initiatives across mechanical subsystems, focusing on design robustness and defect reduction

+ Develop and maintain standards for design processes, documentation, and verification testing

+ Collaborate with engineering, NPI, and suppliers to ensure quality and manufacturability requirements are met

+ Build and execute design verification plans, including fixture development and validation testing

+ Drive root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective actions to improve product performance and reliability

+ Support continuous improvement through training, process refinement, and lessons learned

All About You

We're looking for someone who combines strong mechanical fundamentals with a quality-first mindset.

+ Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or Master's with relevant experience)

+ 5-8 years of experience in mechanical engineering, quality engineering, or product development

+ Strong understanding of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and mechanical design fundamentals

+

Experience with DFM/DFA principles and design verification testing

+ Familiarity with root cause analysis methods (8D, 5 Whys, A3) and CAPA processes

+ Experience working in cross-functional product development environments

+ Strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills

Additional Strengths

+ Proficiency with CAD tools (SOLIDWORKS, PDM systems preferred)

+ Familiarity with FEA tools (ANSYS or similar)

+ Ability to drive quality improvements across design and manufacturing workflows

+ Attention to detail with a structured, process-driven approach

Preferred

+ Lean Six Sigma certification and FMEA experience

+ Familiarity with semiconductor equipment or SEMI standards

We are only considering candidates local to position location and are unable to provide relocation for this position.

Compensation:

The base salary range for this role is $100,000 - $160,000. This range is a good faith estimate, and the amount of base salary will correspond with experience and skill set. This range can also fluctuate depending on demand and location.

Incentive Plan:
This job is eligible for discretionary bonus(es) based on financial performance.
