Director of Technology Operations

Overview

Director of Technology Operations will serve as a visionary leader responsible for overseeing the seamless operation, optimization, and innovation of Lakeview’s technology infrastructure and services. This position demands an expert with over 15 years of progressive experience in IT operations, infrastructure, and leadership, capable of driving long-term organizational goals through cutting-edge technology solutions.

Specializing in designing, building, and automating secure, highly available, and fault-tolerant backend infrastructure and code delivery pipelines in cloud environments. As a key member of the IT leadership team, the Director of Technology Operations will lead a team of IT professionals, including Site Reliability Engineers, to ensure high system reliability, scalability, and performance. The role involves defining and implementing the technological roadmap while building robust operational frameworks that support growth and ensure business continuity.

Success in this position requires a forward-thinking mindset, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate with stakeholders across all levels of the organization. The ultimate goal is to create stable, resilient, and self-healing systems that allow development and operations teams to sleep soundly at night, knowing the infrastructure is robust and reliable. This role pays between $150,000 and $170,000 and includes an annual bonus.

It is based in our Agoura Hills, CA office and requires being on-site five days a week.

• Define and execute the strategic vision for the technology operations function, aligning it with business objectives and industry best practices.

• Team Leadership and Development
• Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing technology operations team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
• Establish clear goals, conduct regular performance evaluations, and develop professional growth plans for team members.
• Build a skilled team, ensuring cross-functional expertise and succession planning.
• Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of IT infrastructure, including on-premises, hybrid, and multi-cloud environments (Azure/AWS).
• Drive operational efficiency through automation, standardization, and adoption of Dev Ops principles.
• Develop and enforce IT policies, procedures, and governance frameworks to enhance security, compliance, and operational effectiveness.
• Establish robust disaster recovery and business continuity plans, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
• Implement advanced monitoring and analytics systems to proactively detect and address system performance issues.
• Lead initiatives to reduce downtime, improve system resilience, and enhance the end-user experience.
• Set and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), providing regular operational performance reports to executive leadership.
• Act as the primary liaison between IT and other business units, translating technical challenges into actionable business outcomes.
• Partner with department leaders to understand evolving technology needs and implement scalable solutions.
• Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure alignment with organizational goals and budgets.

• Stay informed about emerging trends and technologies, identifying opportunities to drive innovation and create a competitive advantage.
• Lead organization-wide initiatives to adopt cutting-edge technologies, modernize legacy systems, and enhance automation capabilities.

• 15+ years of progressive IT operations experience, with at least 8 years in senior leadership roles managing large-scale, complex infrastructures.
• Proven success in leading cloud transformation initiatives (Azure, AWS) and hybrid IT environments.
• Expertise in IT service management (ITSM), with demonstrated experience implementing and managing tools like Service Now or Jira Service Management.
• Deep knowledge of IT infrastructure, networking, virtualization, cloud technologies, and automation tools (e.g., Power Shell, Python, Ansible, Terraform).
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, risk management, and compliance frameworks (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001).
• Exceptional leadership and team-building skills, with a proven ability to inspire and develop talent across diverse teams.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of presenting technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
