Library Assistant - Al

A reputable library in Al Ahmadi is seeking a responsible and organized Library Assistant to join our team.

As a Library Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operations of the library, including organizing and shelving books, assisting patrons with finding materials, and maintaining the cleanliness of the library.

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field preferred
• Experience working in a library or similar environment
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer applications
• Knowledge of library cataloging systems preferred

• Organize and shelve books according to the established system
• Assist patrons with finding materials and provide recommendations as needed
• Check books in and out using the library system
• Maintain the cleanliness of the library, including dusting shelves and cleaning tables
• Handle basic reference inquiries from patrons
• Assist with collection maintenance by identifying damaged or missing items
• Create displays promoting new books or special collections
• Attend training sessions to stay updated on library policies and procedures

This is a contract position with a salary of $1000 per month. Accommodation will not be provided, but we will assist with securing a visa and ticket for non-Kuwaiti applicants. This is an excellent opportunity for students looking for part-time work or individuals interested in gaining experience in a library setting.

Please note that priority will be given to candidates who are currently living in Al Ahmadi or willing to relocate at their own expense. Fluency in English is not required but preferred.
