Electrical Technician – Oil & Gas Maintenance

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Electrical Technician to join our maintenance team in the Oil & Gas sector.

• ITI/Technical Diploma in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent qualification
• Minimum 5 years of electrical maintenance experience, preferably in the Oil & Gas, petrochemical or refinery sector
• Experience in preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance
• Ability to read electrical drawings, single-line diagrams and equipment manuals
• Knowledge of Permit-to-Work procedures, LOTO and electrical safety requirements
• Experience working in hazardous areas and knowledge of Ex-certified electrical equipment
• Good troubleshooting and fault-finding skills

Candidates Should Have Practical Maintenance Experience With

• LV and MV switch gear
• Actuators and MOVs
• Electrical motors and motor control centres
• Transformers and bus ducts
• Variable-frequency drives and soft starters
• UPS, battery chargers and battery banks
• Diesel generators and synchronising systems
• Lighting and small-power systems
• Electrical protection relays and control circuits
• Cable termination, glanding, testing and jointing
• Insulation-resistance, continuity and hi-pot testing

• Valid electrical competency or trade certificate
• Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team
• Willingness to work shifts and attend emergency breakdowns
• Good physical fitness and safety awareness
• Basic English communication and reporting skills
• Valid driving licence will be an advantage
• Oil & Gas safety training and PTW certification will be preferred
