About World of Crow
World of Crow is an artisan-led slow fashion brand working with traditional textile techniques across India including hand weaving, hand block printing, natural dyeing, and craft-based production. We collaborate directly with artisan communities to create timeless garments rooted in craftsmanship, sustainability, and cultural heritage.
We are looking for a textile designer passionate about handmade processes and Indian craft traditions to work closely with artisan clusters and develop original textiles.
Role Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Textile Designer with strong knowledge of hand block printing, hand weaving, and traditional textile techniques . The role involves designing textiles, working directly with artisans, developing samples, and travelling to villages for production and sampling.
This is a field-oriented role requiring deep interest in craft, textiles, and material exploration.
Key Responsibilities
Textile Development
Design original textile concepts for collections
Develop hand block prints, surface designs, and fabric concepts
Work on weave developments and fabric structures
Create repeat patterns, color stories, and material explorations
Develop seasonal textile directions aligned with brand vision
Sampling & Artisan Coordination
Work directly with block printers, weavers, and artisan clusters
Travel to villages for sampling and development
Guide artisans on design execution and quality standards
Monitor sampling process and troubleshoot production issues
Maintain design documentation and sampling records
Research & Innovation
Research Indian textile traditions, techniques, and materials
Explore new craft clusters and textile possibilities
Work with natural fabrics and sustainable materials
Experiment with textures, dyeing methods, and surface treatments
Production Support
Ensure consistency of textile quality and execution
Coordinate with production team for bulk development
Support fabric sourcing and material selection
Required Skills & Experience
2–6 years experience in textile design
Strong knowledge of hand block printing and hand weaving
Understanding of Indian textiles and craft processes
Experience working with artisan clusters or craft communities
Ability to travel frequently to production locations and villages
Strong sense of color, texture, and material
Hands-on approach to design and sampling
Preferred (Bonus)
Experience with natural dyes or sustainable textiles
NIFT or textile design background
Experience in slow fashion or craft-based brands
Understanding of garment construction and fabric behavior
