Customer Service Representative II

Mechanics Bank is currently searching for a part-time Customer Service Representative II to join our team at our Pearl City Branch. This position is responsible for acquisition, retention, and expansion of new and existing customer relationships.

• New Accounts/Sales Activities
  • Interview and profile new and existing customers to recommend appropriate banking products and services.
  • Open and close customer accounts (checking, savings, money markets, certificates of deposit, and IRAs).
  • Cross-sell bank products and services, ensuring recommendations meet customer needs.
  • Make referrals to other business units for non-banking products.
  • Participate in sales programs to generate new customers and achieve referral goals.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of bank products and services.
  • Resolve difficult situations with creativity, tact, and diplomacy; maintain a friendly, positive, professional attitude.
• Teller Activities
  • Process deposits, withdrawals, holds, loan payments, stop payments, telephone transfers, direct deposits, cash advances, wire transfers, and debit card requests.
  • Balance cash drawer independently and maintain cash over/short records in compliance with policy.
  • Control vault cash and meet cash shipment requirements and limits.
  • Perform ATM balancing, daily branch balancing, customer information system input, branch supply orders, and monthly branch report generation.
• Operational Activities
  • Participate in branch audit functions and follow policy to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Support branch lobby management and assist other CSRs with work assignments and balancing.
• Service Activities
  • Provide exceptional customer service in person or by telephone, adhering to the STAR (Seamless, Trustworthy, Attentive, Resourceful) qualities.
  • Look for ways to pleasantly surprise customers and participate in two community events per year.

• Minimum of 2 years cash handling and customer service experience; banking experience preferred.
• Experience opening new deposit accounts preferred.
• Demonstrated success in cross-selling banking services and products.
• Strong customer relations skills with excellent written and oral communication.
• PC experience required;
  Word, Excel, and teller/bank software preferred.
• Self-starter, dependable, able to work within deadlines under pressure.
• Good judgment, ability to accept responsibility, and handle confidential information.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

$20.00 - $23.00 hourly; eligible for Retail Incentive Plan.
