Waikoloa Elementary and Middle School is thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for a passionate and dedicated 3rd Grade Special Education Teacher to join our 'ohana (family) for the 2025‑2026 school year. Responsibilities- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs.
- Adapt, modify, and create curriculum to accommodate various learning styles and developmental levels.
- Utilize evidence‑based instructional strategies to support cognitive, academic, social‑emotional, physical, and behavioral development.
- Collaborate with families, support staff, and related service providers to foster student success.
- Maintain clear and open communication with parents and caregivers regarding student progress and strategies for home support.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations regarding special education services.
- Create a nurturing and structured learning environment that fosters student engagement and growth.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices, resources, and strategies to ensure the academic success and well‑being of all students.
- Valid Special Education license from the Hawaii Teacher Standards Board.
- Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent).
- Valid Hawaii teaching license or Emergency Hire Permit upon hire.
- If hired without completing a teacher education program, must obtain a valid Hawaii teaching license within three years and actively pursue enrollment in a state‑approved program.
- Special education classroom experience in a K‑12 school setting.
- Experience planning and facilitating IEP meetings; exercising independent and professional judgment in daily functions; maintaining an effective work pace under pressure; quickly grasping new concepts and applying them effectively; working effectively with others.

- 10‑month teachers compensated under Bargaining Unit 05 salary schedule.
