Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate, adaptable, and student-centered educator to join our elementary team. The ideal candidate is a lifelong learner dedicated to fostering a safe, inclusive, and academically rigorous environment where every child feels seen, heard, and challenged.
Responsibilities- Instructional Leadership:
Plan and deliver engaging, standards‑aligned lessons in core subjects (ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies) using differentiated instruction to meet diverse learning needs. - Classroom Culture:
Establish a positive, productive classroom climate through consistent routines and social‑emotional learning (SEL) integration. - Assessment & Data:
Utilize formative and summative assessments to track student progress, inform small‑group instruction, and communicate growth to stakeholders. - Collaboration:
Participate in Grade Level Teams (GLTs) and Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) to analyze data, share best practices, and align curriculum. - Communication:
Maintain proactive and professional partnerships with families through conferences, newsletters, and digital platforms. - Pedagogy:
Strong understanding of the Science of Reading, inquiry‑based math, and RTI/MTSS frameworks.
The Hawaii State Department of Education requires a minimum qualification of a Bachelor’s Degree for teachers, librarians, or counselors. Candidates hired without completing a Teacher’s Education Program must obtain a valid Hawaii teaching license within three years of employment. If a license has not been obtained at the time of hire, a valid Hawaii teaching license or Emergency Hire Permit is required.
Candidates must also enroll in and actively pursue a Hawaii teacher education program throughout employment.

Summary
10‑month teachers are compensated on the 10‑month salary schedule, receive 18 days of paid sick leave, and are eligible for health insurance, group life insurance, flexible spending accounts, retirement plans, and other benefits as outlined in the State Collection Agreement. Additional benefits include deferred compensation, temporary disability insurance, social security contributions, workers’ compensation, and union representation.
Payday InformationNew employees can expect their first paycheck within the first three pay periods of their start date. Payday is on the 5th and 20th (or the preceding business day) of each month.
