Controller - Nonprofit
Salary: $135,000 - $160,000 per year

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as the Controller for a Nonprofit Organization. This dynamic role is an integral part of our Accounting and Finance division, offering an exciting opportunity to lead and manage all financial aspects of our organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for grant accounting, financial planning, budgeting, and risk management, among other duties.
The role requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, with a strong emphasis on Grant Accounting, Financial Operations & Compliance and Nonprofit GAAP Accounting/Financial Reporting.

Job Details Responsibilities
Oversee all financial operations and direct corporate financial planning and structure.Coordinate, analyze, and report financial performance to management and the board, including projections and special projects.Prepare short‑ and long‑term financial forecasts for use with internal management and external parties.Oversee audit and tax functions, coordinating activities with outside audit firms and reviewing their performance.Develop, implement, and maintain accounting and administrative policies and procedures for a wide-ranging set of activities including financial accounting and reporting, employee relations (hiring/terminating policies) and other corporate policies.Ensure proficiency in all aspects of corporate accounting and all pertinent GAAP, SEC rules and regulations, including Sarbanes‑Oxley compliance.Manage all corporate and human resource activities including employee benefits, retirement plans, corporate insurance, and related activities, coordinating with satellite offices.Manage the budget process for the entire firm and other legal entity budgets and costs.Manage all aspects of grant accounting, ensuring compliance with funding source administrative guidelines, timely receipt of revenue, accurate submission of financial reports, audit compliance, and maintenance of comprehensive backup documentation for all financial transactions.Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. A Master's degree or CPA is highly desirable.A minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management roles, with a focus on grant accounting.Strong knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems.Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations, and experience working with external auditors, internal controls, and compliance‑related issues.Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.Experience in a senior financial‑management role, partnering with executive staff, and developing and implementing creative financial management strategies.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Demonstrated leadership ability, confidence, and executive presence with the ability to motivate staff.Excellent problem‑solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.Join us for an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact in our organization.
