SMX is seeking three Space Exercise Planners to support US Space Forces Indo-Pacific (SFI). These Space Exercise Planners will provide high-level subject matter expertise to lead the integration of space domain effects into theater-level exercises.
This position requires a current DoD Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI which requires US citizenship.

- JELC Management:
Lead and facilitate all phases of the exercise planning cycle, including Concept Development, and Initial, Mid, and Final Planning Conferences. - Scenario Development:
Develop Master Scenario Event Lists (MSEL) that synchronize space power, with a specific focus on integrating Space Domain Awareness (SDA) and Satellite Communications (SATCOM). - Allied Interoperability:
Coordinate with allies and partners (e.g., Japan, Australia, South Korea) to incorporate "Allied by Design" principles into multilateral exercises. - Post-Exercise Analysis:
Author After-Action Reports (AAR) and facilitate "Hot Wash" debriefs to identify and document capability gaps in space-integrated Command, Control, Communications, and Intelligence (C3I).
- Must have a current DoD Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.
- Ability to communicate and coordinate with allies and partner nations, including their respective commands.
- Highly organized as all focus areas require tracking multiple processes, maintaining a large amount of data, and creating and maintaining multiple products for multiple countries simultaneously.
- Excellent technical writing skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Customer focused.
- Capacity to learn new systems rapidly and adapt quickly to change.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office 365 products.
- Experience with US Space Forces Indo-Pacific (SFI).
- Intra-agency or joint command experience.
- International engagement or exercise planning experience.
The SMX salary determination process takes into account a number of factors, including but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories, relevant prior work experience, specific skills, education and certifications. The proposed salary for this position is: $140,000—$185,000 USD.
