SMX is seeking a self‑starter, motivated candidate to fulfill the requirements as an Intelligence Exercise and Engagement Planner candidate will support intelligence exercise and engagement planning to include intelligence training objective and scenario development. The position will provide intelligence support to exercise planning conferences. The intelligence exercise and engagement planner will be fully integrated in the command and provide exercise intelligence expertise to the command.
The intelligence exercise and engagement planner will synchronize and coordinate with SOJ3, SOJ7, subordinate units, and external manning requirements for exercise support. Must have superior written and oral communications skills.

- Plan, coordinate and execute SOCPAC and component intelligence participation in assigned USPACOM, JCS, and Service exercises.
- Coordinate and manage exercise development in conjunction with USPACOM and component planner and participants. Develop training objectives that meet SOCPAC SOJ2 JMETL requirements.
- Ensure SOCPAC and component exercises inform the Defense Readiness Reporting System and fully incorporate the Joint Lessons Learned system.
- Develop training objectives in conjunction with exercise participants and SOCPAC SOJ2 stakeholders.
- Assist in the coordination with exercise participants and supporters from other DoD and non‑DoD organizations.
- Draft and develop realistic threat scenarios, incorporate best‑practice inputs from DoD and other agencies.
- Coordinate exercise criteria to test and stress the command’s intelligence and training objectives.
- Consolidate and draft AAR related to training objectives, corrections, and COA development.
- Develop, synchronize, execute, and track SOCPAC’s capacity building, multinational engagements, including but not limited to subject matter expert exchanges (SMEE) and key leader engagements (KLE).
- Conduct all‑source research and assessments on countries in the Indo‑Pacific to identify challenges in achieving objectives and develop recommendations in conjunction with SOCPAC Intelligence SMEEs to overcome identified challenges.
- Develop talking points and information papers to support COMSOCPAC and SOCPAC SOJ2 KLEs with senior U.S. / foreign military / civilian leaders.
- CONUS and OCONUS travel may be required.
- Must possess TS security clearance and be SCI eligible.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a GO/FO multi‑star level conducting tactical, operational planning to achieve strategic effects.
- Familiarity with civil‑military operations, humanitarian assistance / disaster response, and peace‑keeping operations.
- Prior experience as an exercise planner with the Department of War.
- Must possess excellent oral, writing and coordination skills to communicate information clearly and concisely.
- SAMS, JAWS, Joint Operational Planner Course II, or Battle Staff graduate preferred.
- Experience providing intel support to SOF units/commands.

The proposed salary for this position is: $125,000 USD - $148,000 USD
