Overview / Position SummaryThe Operations Manager oversees daily operations for the assigned market and ensures alignment with GMR’s operational, financial, and regulatory standards. This role provides leadership across assigned departments and holds responsibility for budget, volume, and operational performance.
Duties / Responsibilities Operational Leadership & Strategy- Lead and manage daily operations to ensure alignment with GMR operational and strategic goals.
- Analyze market needs and develop plans to appropriately match out‑of‑hospital healthcare service capacity to customer demand.
- Establish goals and objectives for field operations based on regional strategies and clearly communicate expectations to teams.
- Integrate operational initiatives associated with organizational strategy and continuous improvement efforts.
- Support the integration of new companies into the GMR organization through structured planning and execution.
- Ensure optimal service levels for agencies, hospitals, and the medical community.
- Analyze customer satisfaction data, modify processes, and coach employees to ensure high service standards.
- Negotiate contract provisions and modifications as needed.
- Participate in the resolution of issues involving community partners, political groups, and external agencies.
- Volunteer and represent GMR in community activities to enhance the organization’s image and presence.
- Plan, control, and monitor operating and capital budgets for assigned areas of responsibility.
- Prepare and analyze financial and operational reports, modifying operations to contain costs and improve performance.
- Participate in marketing and business development initiatives to increase revenue and reduce costs.
- Ensure effective, timely, and cost‑efficient contract administration.
- Manage inventory, including fleet assets, in a cost‑effective manner.
- Direct and integrate clinical management activities.
- Design, implement, and maintain processes to maximize quality and operational effectiveness.
- Ensure continuous quality improvement through collaboration with clinical management, communications centers, and protocol oversight.
- Establish disaster planning programs and assume operational leadership during emergency situations.
- Interact and coordinate with public and private emergency relief providers.
- Manage recruitment, retention, development, performance management, and recognition of employees.
- Provide clear direction, coaching, and performance feedback to supervisory staff.
- Act as a resource to employees in resolving issues and improving effectiveness.
- Ensure consistent and fair treatment of all employees.
- Participate in labor relations activities and maintain effective working relationships with union representatives.
- Modify job roles and responsibilities to increase employee satisfaction and development.
- Mentor employees, conduct performance evaluations, and administer corrective actions as needed.
- Champion affirmative action and diversity initiatives across all aspects of employment.
- Ensure compliance with GMR policies and procedures as well as OSHA, EEO, and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
- Ensure effective risk management through proactive education and safety training programs.
- Monitor and modify processes to manage success measures and compliance outcomes.
- Adhere to and promote information systems security policies, including training participation and issue reporting.
- Minimum of three (3) years of general management experience.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in emergency medical services (EMS).
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare, or a related field preferred.
- Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated internal and external customer service experience.
- Current State EMT or Paramedic license.
- BLS and ACLS certification (AHA only).
