Aloha! One of Hawaii's leading national providers of integrated security, fire alarm, and life safety systems is seeking an Inspection Technician to join their team.
Top Skills- Experience inspecting fire alarm products, wet and dry fire sprinkler systems or industry-related experience.
- Must be proficient in the use and application of personal computers.
- Familiarity with fire sprinkler and fire alarm system preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprint, schematics, diagrams, policies, procedures, etc. as presented in English.
- Conduct routine tests and inspections, documenting deficiencies of fire alarm systems, fire safety systems, fire sprinkler systems and other fire safety product lines according to prescribed processes.
- Verify proper operation; prepare accurate and timely documentation of work performed.
- Prepare inspection/deficiency reports for submission to management.
- Interface with service management to ensure that all work is scheduled/handled.
- Interface with customers to explain work performed and answer their questions.
- Resolve customer concerns as quickly and effectively as possible.
- Ensure customer satisfaction and a positive customer experience.
- Maintain and organize truck inventory (parts and tools) to ensure proper response to customers’ needs.
- Stand; walk; sit; twist; use hands to handle; reach with hands and arms; push; pull; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear.
- Use vision abilities including: close, distance, peripheral, depth, and color.
- Work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions/circumstances such as with ladders, scaffolding, high lift equipment, wires, ducts, crawl spaces, attics, above ceilings, etc.
- Lift, move, and hold up to approximately 50 lbs.
- Must be able to work a full-time, flexible schedule with “on call availability” and must be able to travel on short notice.
- Must be able to drive a motor vehicle (day and evenings) for extended time periods.
- Adhere to company safety policies and procedures.
- Be able to legally rent a car.
- Have a strong work ethic.
- Be detail-oriented.
- Perform other duties, as assigned.
- Obtain NICET Level I in Inspection and Testing of Fire Alarm Systems and NICET Level I in Inspection and Testing of Water-Based Systems within one (1) year.
- Obtain and retain any licenses and certifications required by state and/or local codes.
M-F, 8am-5pm. Occasional travel to neighboring islands (typically day trip only, rarely overnight) as needed.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Aiea, HI.
Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
