Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Field/Service Technician, Building Maintenance
Site Manager needed to work both short- and long-term projects on 12 U.S. military installations in the State of Hawaii, as part of USACE Programs. As the Site Manager you will be conducting recurring maintenance inspections and repairs (both planned routine and emergency) of the capitalized fueling systems at DoD facilities. Two of the facilities are located on Kauai and Hawaii Island.
The remainder of the facilities are located on Oahu.
- Directly responsible for performing recurring maintenance on military fueling systems, including calibration, testing, and operation of valves and various fueling equipment. Requires site manager to have working knowledge of fueling systems and good judgment in assessing equipment conditions for long-term operation and maintenance.
- Responsible for on-site quality control and troubleshooting of technically complex service orders, following the Contract Performance Work Statement and individual service order Scopes of Work.
- Responsible for implementation of on-site health and safety program and ensuring safety regulations and site‑specific project plans are followed during work execution, including proper daily and task‑specific safety documentation.
- Conduct onsite briefings, safety tailgate meetings, task‑specific safety discussions, and out‑briefs with facility managers and subcontractors, ensuring subcontractors comply with safety requirements. Familiarity with EM 385‑1‑1 is helpful.
- Manage and schedule subcontractor(s) to execute multiple work orders, including concurrent execution.
- Gather substantial field data required for routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs, providing data to the project team (Project Manager, Engineer(s), Maintenance Manager).
- Manage electronic data using program software to ensure systems operate properly and deficiencies are reported quickly.
- Work as part of a close‑knit maintenance team and in association with other Aptim teams responsible for high‑profile projects and closure efforts in the area.
- Communicate and coordinate work with team members, subcontractors, and various stakeholders.
- Candidate must have 5 years of fueling system experience or equivalent—piping, mechanical work, fueling upgrades, tank work, coatings work, inspections, and repairs. Seeking functional expertise and business knowledge in maintenance of operating fueling systems.
- Experience working on fueling systems in Hawaii or similar environments desired.
- Ability to influence customer and/or organizational leadership to accomplish operational objectives.
- Strong safety background and focus.
- Considerable field time can be expected, including walking, squatting, kneeling, bending, etc.
- Familiarity with UFGS, UFC, ASME Codes, API, and other standards is extremely helpful.
- Must pass background checks for military base access. A current or past military security clearance is a bonus.
- Working conditions include possible exposure to fuel, loud environments, hot/humid conditions, work at heights, confined spaces or low light conditions, and awkward ergonomic positions. Safety training is required and part of job duties as required by the project team.
- Capacity for critical thinking to provide solutions for operational problems identified, which may be critical to supporting mission readiness for the various facilities served.
As of the date of this posting, a good‑faith estimate of the current pay range for this position is $89,000 – $147,000 per year. Compensation depends on factors such as experience, education, key skills, geographic location, client requirements, external market competitiveness, and internal equity among other employees at APTIM.
