Appraisal and Assessment Clerk

Job Description

Under regular supervision, performs a variety of routine clerical duties associated with the preparation of County appraisal and assessment records. Performs related work as required. Reports to the Operations Manager.

Examples of Duties

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Receives, compiles and enters appraisal records and other property information into computer database; prepares property cards using Catalis (CAMA) software. Verifies and updates information in database and on property cards as necessary. Works with E-911 Addressing to maintain accurate information. Retrieves computer data and reports as requested. Assists customers in the front office as required. Answers the telephone;

provides accurate information to callers and/or forwards calls to appropriate staff person. Performs general clerical work as required, including but not limited to processing daily mail, copying and filing documents, etc. Receives and responds to public inquiries, requests for assistance, and complaints regarding department policies, procedures and activities. Attends training as required to maintain job knowledge and skills; attends meetings as required or appropriate.

Refers to policy and procedure manuals, titles and deeds, computer manuals, laws / codes / ordinances, maps, directories, etc. Operates a variety of equipment such as a computer, printers, copier, calculator, telephone, etc. Uses clerical and computer supplies. Interacts and communicates with the immediate supervisor, co-workers, other County personnel, taxpayers, and the general public. Assists in maintaining a clean and orderly work environment.

Performs related duties as required.

Typical Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS Requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent supplemented by one to two years of responsible clerical and/or data processing experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
