Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking  Board Certified Emergency Medicine Physicians (ABEM)  for locum coverage in Aiken, South Carolina. This community emergency department offers robust physician and APC coverage across all shifts, a strong subspecialty backup network, and competitive compensation with full travel support.

Assignment Highlights

ASAP – Ongoing

Shift Structure:  All shifts available

Physicians: 7a–4p, 11a–9p, 4p–2a, 9p–7a

APCs: 8a–6p, 11a–9p, 6p–4a

Coverage Model:

Physicians: 40 hours/day

APCs: 30–36 hours/day

Annual ED Volume:  ~40,000 visits

Patient Volume:  2–2.3 patients/hour

Hospital Beds:  273 |  ED Beds:  35

Fast Track:  Available

Admission Rate:  20–25%

Trauma Designation:  Transitioning to Level IV (currently non-designated)

EMR:  Cerner

Privileges:  Standard credentialing timeline (no temporary privileges noted)

Travel:  Included

Full range of Emergency Medicine practice across all acuity levels

Dedicated ICU with intensivist support

Subspecialty backup includes:
Anesthesiology, Cardiac Cath, CT Surgery, General Surgery, OB/GYN, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Infectious Disease, Pulmonology, Radiology, Urology, Vascular Surgery, and more

Referral Resources:
Trauma (AUMC), Pediatrics (AUMC), Burn (Doctors Hospital)

Candidate Requirements

Board Certification:  ABEM required

Licensure:  Active South Carolina medical license or willingness to obtain

Certifications:

ACLS & ATLS required

Experience:

Minimum 3+ years Emergency Medicine preferred

Skills:

Full-scope EM physician practice, comfortable collaborating with APCs
